Pengaruh Konsentrasi Filtrat Bawang Merah Dan Lama Perendaman Terhadap Pertumbuhan Setek Jambu Air Citra (Syzygium aqueum)

Abstract


This research aims to investigate the interaction of red onion filtrate concentration and soaking duration, as well as determine the optimal combination of treatments for red onion filtrate concentration and soaking duration to enhance the growth of guava cuttings. The study was conducted at the Experimental Garden of the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Riau, from June to September 2021. It employed an experimental design with a 5 x 3 factorial experiment arranged in a completely randomized design (CRD). Red onion filtrate concentration served as Factor I, consisting of (without red onion filtrate, 25% red onion filtrate concentration, 50% red onion filtrate concentration, 75% red onion filtrate concentration, 100% red onion filtrate concentration), while soaking duration served as Factor II, consisting of (6 hours, 9 hours, 12 hours) with three replications. The data analysis results were further tested using the LSD test at a 5% significance level with SPSS Version 24.0. The observed parameters included percentage of growth, shoot length, number of shoots, emergence age of shoots, root length, number of roots, and root volume. The research findings indicate an interaction between red onion filtrate and soaking duration on the number and volume of roots in guava cuttings. The application of 100% red onion filtrate with a soaking duration of 6 hours exhibited better growth compared to other treatments across all parameters, except for root volume.
